It’s that time of the year again. Time for our young ones to return to school for another year of teachers, friends, books, new clothes, school supplies and classrooms. Are you prepared? I have two going back this year. One is in his last year of junior high and I have a third grader. I also still have one at home I wish could go to school. I had to buy uniforms, backpacks and some supplies. There are still school supplies that I will have to get them but I usually get a list of what the teachers want them to have after the first few days so I try to wait on that before I just start buying things. Plus I want to see all of the back to school deals that are going on.

Please have a safe, blessed and prosperous day in the Lord. God bless each and every reader of these quotes. Let him or her be safe from the hand of the enemy. Let their heart be opened on this day to receive the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Fill them with your Spirit that their eyes may be opened and their mind be renewed. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

Teens die from Choking Game
This is such a sad and tragic story of how our young people are being sucked under and killed by the hand of the enemy. I feel it is necessary to share this story with parents and family members to spread the word of what is going on with our youth. We need to dig deeper and pay attention to our children. We do not want to see how much pressure is being put on them by their peers to do things so that they fit in because we are so busy with our own lives. Parents please stop and take some time out to know what is going on in your kids lives. Ask them how their day is going, get them to open up to you without you judging them. We are responsible for them as they are a gift from God. He has entrusted them to us. These kids are playing a dangerous game that can kill them. They are chasing a high that they do not understand that there are consequences for. They are hanging themselves in groups and alone. Parents we have to stand together to put a stop to these senseless acts of tragedy. So far there has been two deaths because of this game. Talk to your children, I can not stress that enough! They are our future and I personally want to see a brighter future for them and for myself. Their future depends on what they learn to do now. The will be our leaders and teachers. Continue Reading »

Well thinking and remembering people. Umm. I had the urge to make some potatoes smothered in onions, sweet corn on the cob and some fried chicken yesterday. It is a meal my grandfather used to make often. He called the potatoes Southern Fried Potatoes. I began to think about him and the more I thought about him the more I wanted those potatoes, I miss them and him. To be truthful I miss a lot of his cooking he did it everyday. I was laying on the couch and I jumped up and asked the kids if they wanted the same thing. Their reply was yes of course. This ended up being a meal that touched my soul. You wonder how don’t you…

So I am in the stages of potty training my 2 year old daughter. I have been at it since last November. I have two older kids and for what I can remember it was never this difficult to potty train them. There have been periods when she would go regularly and tell me when she needed to potty #1 and #2 and we were on a roll. But when the older kids got out of school for summer vacation she took a step backwards. She would still for a short time go to the potty to pee but that was it, no more #2 it landed in the pull up. Now she won’t go at all unless I make her it all goes into the pull ups like shes wearing a diaper. I have tried everything. I have sung the potty song, congratulated her when she did use the potty, given her treats, bought training panties even chastised her when she pottied in her pull up. You name it I have tried it. She just will not go unless I make her just sit on the toilet when I feel she should have to go. I don’t know why this one is so hard to train. The trick of it is I know she knows when she has to go because when ever we go out somewhere she will tell me she has to go to the potty and will not stop telling me she has to use it until I take her. She just won’t do it at home. I think it is because she is playing with her sister and her brother and you know how they play and forget about anything else. I am sticking to my training and the kids are going back to school next week and hopefully she will get the ball rolling again with this. She is a smart little cookie too, she knows what she is doing. She told me that she liked Tinkerbell and I asked her if I bought her Tinkerbell underwear would she got to the potty, she said yes. I went out the very next day and purchased a pack of Tinkerbell panties that she picked out. We got home and I put a pair of them on her and she went to the potty all that day. That night was the end of it she pee’d in her Tinkerbells. Needless to say that was the end of that good potty day. We have made it through the alphabets, colors and numbers since I have been home with her so she learns and speaks very well for a child her age. I thank God for being able to be here at home with her to teach her and watch her grow. It is truly a blessing.

So I attended the convention this past week for Whole Truth Ministries. A lot of people won’t care what I think but that’s just the way it is. This was a life changing experience for me. You never know how much you really miss not being in Christ until you get in him and he in you. I went looking for something from the Lord and I got what I needed. I learned what it really means to be holy and want to life a holy life. Its not a hard life to live as people think it is. It is so much harder to serve the Devil in this world. I thank God for saving me and opening my eyes spiritually. I would rather serve him and suffer the persecution for the greater good than live in misery on earth and then go to Hell. I learned about servanthood and what it means to fully serve Christ. We were designed to serve God in our own territory but as one race. That race being the human race and not as individuals separated by speech, color and religion. Meaning He created us and called us to do a service for his people and glorify him. The church is to be one body in Christ. We all have a ministry but that ministry does not mean you have to be a preacher in the pulpit. We go through tests in life in order to become stronger and to use what we learned in our experiences to help someone else that may be going through the same thing. I am honored to be able to serve the Lord. I want to see people happy and on a path to eternal bliss rather than a path to damnation. There is so much that I want to share with the world about this walk with Jesus Christ. We had a place in Heaven reserved for us and it was stolen by Satan, it is time we take back our rightful seat as heirs of the Kingdom. I don’t know about you but I am ready. Will you join me?

So this past weekend I celebrated my anniversary with my husband. It has been 10 years! Our actual anniversary was July 29 but we chose to celebrate it on the weekend, you know. Every year we plan something fun to do and this year my hubby wanted to celebrate at Navy Pier in Chicago. We went on a dinner cruise on the Spirit of Chicago. This was my first time on a ship besides when I worked on the casino boat for a few months. I truly enjoyed this experience I must say. Oh let me go back a bit to that Thursday. Our two older kids ages 13 and 8 made us breakfast in bed and my 2 year old ate most of my breakfast in bed. That was a first also, we had eggs, waffles, toast and Hawaiian punch no meat. The kids are just learning to cook and I was pretty proud of them for making those eggs all by themselves. Anyway back to the cruise. It was so exciting. During boarding we met a couple that was celebrating their 50th anniversary and wethought I had reached a milestone. I long to see the day we reach 50 years. That is so awesome. So as we boarded they took our photo that’s a great way to remember the day. Once we were on the ship they took us to our table and it was amazing there was rose petals on the table with drinking glasses set up just for us. We were given champagne and we made a toast, the DJ announced the celebration, there was music and dancing, great food and a spectacular view of the Chicago skyline. The cruise was only two hours but it felt like 8. I wish it had of lasted a few more hours but after all of that, I can just do it again really soon.

I have decided to keep this blog and use it for personal writings and journaling. I like being able to express myself freely and I think about a lot of things. I want to write how I feel about different situations on a daily basis and here I can do that because I own this blog. It also makes good practice on my writing skills. You will see me write about things that may be facts, fiction, religion, opinions, etc. It will just be how I feel that day. Some people might find it helpful, funny, sad, etc you may agree with me at times and disagree too its okay, I just hope that in expressing myself I can make someone smile or feel good about themself that day.
